THE AMAZING BED RACE
This event is organized jointly by the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation & The Rotary Club of Burlington North. The purpose is simple, to raise money while participating in a community-building event in downtown Burlington. Families, Businesses, Schools and Community Organizations will partake in an exciting day of friendly competition by racing "beds" on a downtown 100Metre course all in the name of community spirit and helping to raise money for two incredible charities.
RACE DETAILS
Sunday September 25th 2011 10 am - 4 pm
Note: No Refunds on Registration After September 13th
Registration will begin at 10 am on Ontario Street and a Parade of Beds will begin at 12Noon. Races will start on Brant Street at Civic Square and run north to Ontario Street. Teams will race at least 2 times and can build their own beds or rent beds from the event. Limited rentals will be available and on a first come first serve basis. Participant safety is paramount to this event and great care is taken to ensure that participants and spectators enjoy the afternoon.
A Kid's Stroller race will take place concurrently. All kids must register by 12 noon. Parents can run with the kids. The Stroller Race is FREE of charge with donations accepted. Kids between the ages of 4 and 12 will race in a 25 meter straight line with their own stroller and stuffed animal or toy of choice to ride in the stroller.

The Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charity devoted to raising, developing and managing funds for the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Through our events and fundraising initiatives, we strive to build and strengthen community relationships, and provide for near and long-term capital needs that support quality health care provided by Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Proceeds raised from this event will go towards supporting the Ambulatory Surgical Unit at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital.
ABOUT The Rotary Club of Burlington North
The Rotary Club of Burlington North is a diverse, energetic service club with a strong sense of fellowship. Currently 40 members, we strive to be leaders committed to helping local and international people in need. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self. Proceeds raised from this event will go towards supporting the capital campaign for the redevelopment of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital as well as other Rotary initiatives.
